Hands-On Suturing will pay up to $500 for a photo series!
Hands-On Suturing is a professional continuing education course,
on the subject of repairing tears from childbirth.
We frequently hear from our course participants how useful it would be to see a photo series of:
- The wound prior to repair
- The wound just after suturing
- The wound after 1-2 weeks healing
- The wound after 6-8 weeks healing
As such, we are seeking those photos, and will pay $500 for a complete series!
Photo requirements:
- Photos must show the tear/repair well, and tear must require sutures. Sometimes multiple photos from slightly different angels will be needed to achieve this. We prefer at least 3-5 photos from slightly different angles for each of the four "occasions." (Only have 1 or 2 photos? That's fine, so long as they show what we need to see!)
- Photos must be clear and crisp. You'll likely need to turn on additional lights in order to take the photographs. Please do not use flashlights, as they create shadows.
- Please email [email protected] for a model release, and photographer release, if applicable. We cannot review submitted photos until this paperwork is received. You will also be sent instructions for submitting photos, and a checklist to be sure you are collecting everything you need. (Tip: It is best to make this request before the birth.)
- Once received, photos will be reviewed for use in Hands-On Suturing and other suturing courses on HiveCE. Photos will be used only for this purpose, and only behind the paywall. (They will not be used in promotional material.)
- If accepted, a full series of photos (multiple photos of the wound prior to repair, the wound just after suturing, the wound after 1-2 weeks, and the wound after 6-8 weeks), will be compensated $500.
- If accepted, partial series of photos will be compensated as follows:
- Wound prior to repair + any other time period = $200
- Wound prior to repair + two other time periods = $300
