HiveCE is a continuing education provider approved by the California Board of Nursing, Provider Number 17686.

Most (but not all!) of our courses meet the criteria under our CA Board of Nursing CE Provider Approval. These courses are "Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing." Please refer to each coursepage for approval details.

What does it mean to be "provider approved?"

The California Board of Nursing does not approve courses, it approves providers. It is then up to each approved provider to only offer this CE credential on courses that meet the criteria for CE under the the CA BRN criteria.

Q&A

The answer to the question is usually yes.

May CPMs use these courses for continuing education?

Q&A

With NARM, 100% yes. For CPM renewal, these meet the criteria for Category 1 (accredited) Continuing Education. They also qualify under the criteria for the NARM Midwifery Bridge Certificate courses.

For state licenses, each state sets their own rules, and those rules are subject to change. Some states clearly state that they accept approvals from other state nursing boards, others are more vague in their language. May CNMs use these courses for continuing education?

Q&A

AMCB does not accept CE courses that are provider approved by a state nursing board. Instead please explore our library of ACNM Approved CE. The American Midwifery Certification Board does accept ACNM Approved CE for their Certificate Maintenance Program.

For state licenses, each state sets their own rules, and those rules are subject to change. Some may accept courses that are approved for nurses (but not by ACNM). However, it is safest to stick to taking our ACNM Approved CE courses.
