This course walks you through coding for the rest of 2026 — and into the world that comes after.
For thirty years, 59400 and the other global maternity codes have been the backbone of how midwives bill maternity care. On January 1, 2027, they're gone — the biggest restructure of maternity billing in three decades.
BfM's Transition to a Post-59400 World is your guide through it. The course teaches the coding and charting skills you'll need to navigate the transition and thrive on the other side: choosing the right E and M code family for where you see clients, deciding when to use the TH modifier, picking the right level with time-based billing, and building the charting habits that support the code you choose.
Note: New lessons will be added throughout 2026, so the course keeps pace with the change instead of waiting for it to settle.
Whether this shift helps or hurts your practice depends a great deal on how you prepare — Billing for Midwives is here to help guide your practice to the best outcome possible.
